Magod falls, an alluring waterfall of River Bedti is located at a distance of 4 km from Magod HomeStay and 19 Km from Yellapur town in Uttara Kannada district . River Bedthi, cascades from a height of 650 ft. River Bedti flows down in two leaps offering a beautiful view and the surroundings offers an ideal picnic spot. This place is also a trekker's paradise.

Kavadi Kere

On the way to Magod falls is a serene lake called Kavadi Kere. "Kavadi Kere" is spread over an area of 60 acres.Situated on the banks of this lake is a beautiful Devi temple. Kavadi kere has mythological connection and is believed to be created by Bheema using Ganga water. It seems local people have heard sounds of bells and conch at noon from the middle of the lake. It's a local belief that anybody challenging to swim across the lake drowns never to come out again.

Satoddi Falls

Sathoddi Falls in Karnataka is about 32 km form Yellapur and around 1 hour drive from Magod Homestay. There are many streams that join together in the Kallaramane Ghat and cascade into a 15 m picturesque Sathoddi falls. It further joins the backwaters of Kodasalli dam that is built over the Kali River. It is best to visit the falls in winter, from early November to the end of march.

It's just 38 km ride from Magod Homestay to the backwaters of Kodasalli Dam. Kodasalli Backwaters is a mesmerising pool of water accumulated behind the Kodasalli Dam in the state of Karnataka. Kodasalli Dam is built across the Kali River in Yellapura taluk of Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka state, India. This dam was built by Karnataka Power Corporation Limited. The pool is also fed by waters gushing down from the Sathodi Waterfalls above it. On your way downhill from the Sathodi Waterfalls, a mild downward trek off route can take you to the serene and tranquil backwaters.

Shivapura hanging bridge just 35 km ride from Magod Homestay, 6 kilo meters deviation on the way to the backwaters of Kodasalli Dam or Satoddi Falls. The bridge lies in the lap of mother nature connecting Shivapura village and other villages in Joida taluk seperated by Kali river, barring villegers from taking a 100kms of detour. The bridge is 234 meters long and 1.50 meters wide making it comfortable for two motorcycle to pass at a time. While going towards bridge from Yellapur side there is a descend that will take you to the river bed.

The Chandaguli Ganesha Temple is less than a kilometre’s walk from Magod Homestay. Chandaguli Ganesha Temple is very famous in the region and uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. The temple is surrounded by paddy fields, areca nut, cardamum, pepper and coconut plantations amidst a dense jungle. This temple is also identified with another name “Ghante Ganapati Temple”. Ghante means “bell” in the local language Kannada. By offering bells to the Lord, Ganesha, lot of people got rid of health problems, court cases, begot children, many things happened miraculously. During the Mahamangalaarthi, All the bells are rung together creating a divine and mesmerizing atmosphere .

Kulgi Nature Camp is located at a distance of 58 km from Magod Homestay. This camp has small museum called nature interpretation centre. This museum has a good collection of insects and moths. It also provides information about wildlife of Dandeli's jungles. You also get a chance to pet some wild animals here.

The ancient Kavala caves is a natural cave, also called Sidda. To reach the caves you will have to climb down 375 steps. At some point you will have to crawl through the narrow and winding tunnels. Caves are known to be formed by volcanic activities with stalagmite formations. Inside the cave you will see a big, naturally created Shiva Linga. There is an udder shaped stone formed over the Linga from which water trickles all the time. It is believed the tunnels stretches underground for miles. Every year thousands of people come to worship the Shiva Linga during Shivaratri. Outside the cave one can view the splendid beauty of Kali river flowing through the valley.

Magod Falls is situated close to the Magod village and is around 19 km from Yellapur and around 4 kms from Magod Homestay. This waterfall of the Bedthi river falls from a height of 650 ft, into a narrow valley of rocks. It is situated close to the famous sunset point in the region, the Jenukallugudda.

This is located in reserved forest near Gund village which is around 72 km from Magod Homestay. You will have to walk for about 0.5 km to reach the viewpoint. On the way to to Kanchikal gudda you will pass by Syntheri rocks and Ulvi road.You will enjoy the driving in the winding roads of deep jungle.

Don Holyar Falls

Don Holyar Falls

Two small rivers joined together and formed this waterfall, which is why it is called Dhon(two) Holeyar(rivers) falls. To reach this waterfall you have to drive through beautiful nature ,on the way you may spot Bisons, Deers, Fox ,Peacocks and many birds. You have to park your vehicle near the river and walk 0.5 km to reach the falls after crossing the the river .Here you can play and bathe in the waterfall. Rocks are slippery, so you have to be careful while taking every step.
